Meet Mary Julia McKean, OCO’s new concertmaster! The Olympia Chamber Orchestra is delighted to welcome MJ as our new Concertmaster. A talented violinist and inspiring leader, Mary Julia helps lead the 2025–2026 season to help shape the orchestra’s sound and guide our musical direction.
REFORM: Music Through Struggle and Hope
The Olympia Chamber Orchestra presents a program centered on the spirit of reform and transformation—whether personal, spiritual, or societal.
Schumann’s Manfred Overture channels the inner struggle and yearning for redemption of Lord Byron’s tragic hero. Mendelssohn’s Reformation Symphony celebrates spiritual renewal, weaving the chorale “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” into a triumphant vision of faith and unity. Aulin’s Mäster Olof Suite, drawn from Strindberg’s play about Sweden’s great reformer Olaus Petri, captures the energy of cultural change with folk-inspired color and romantic expression.
